Older Toddler Classroom – Building Independence, Communication, and Early Learning Skills

In our Older Toddler classroom, children continue to grow their communication skills while exploring their independence in a safe and nurturing environment. We incorporate sign language to help toddlers express their basic needs, fostering confidence and reducing frustration. Our program encourages positive peer interactions, cooperation, and empathy through guided play and social activities.

Each child benefits from small group learning, allowing for personalized, one-on-one attention from our experienced toddler teachers. Using the Learning Beyond Paper® curriculum, we provide hands-on, developmentally appropriate learning opportunities that stimulate cognitive, physical, and social-emotional growth.

 

Our Older Toddler learning experiences include:

• Language Development – expanding vocabulary, early conversation skills

• Reading Read-Alouds, Singing, & Nursery Rhymes – building literacy and listening skills

• Math Development – introduction to counting, number recognition, and early problem-solving

• Shape Recognition – learning to identify and name shapes in their environment

• Fine & Gross Motor Skill Development – improving coordination through art, play, and movement

• Creative Arts – learning to use drawing, coloring, and painting utensils

• Active Play – climbing, jumping, and exploring physical movement

• Science Discovery – engaging in simple experiments and nature exploration
